  • Observe and note any warning lights:________________________________________Inspect Steering, Suspension, Visually search for iron oxide powder around all susp,strng, u-carriage bolts/nuts. Brakes (Pads & Rotors): Pads (front)_____% remaining/Pads (rear)_____% remaining, Rotors (front)_________ (rear)_________ Tire Pressure (____ psi), Exhaust system for evidence of leaks or weakness, Oil/Coolant leaks. Inspect Driveshafts and c.v. boots, U-joints for looseness or iron oxide powder residue, Transmission, Differential gearcases for leaks, and engine for leaks. Engine Compartment: belts, hoses, fluid levels and condition of fluids.
  • TRANSAXLE OIL FILTER – Remove & Replace – Strainer

  • Measure ohms: normal (2.6 ohms) Monitor Signature of sensor: normal Improve connection of pins at sensor to help eliminate a connection issue. If issue still persists and is consistent for cold start then we will want to see car overnight to test with cold engine. Suspect we may have an intermittent failure in PCM but must rule out harness/sensor first.
  • Retrieve fault codes and inspect: see print out

  • CYLINDER HEAD GASKET – Remove & Replace – 2.5i,Outback Sport Both – [Includes: Remove carbon and check surfaces for warpage. Includes (where applicable): Adjust idle speed, Ignition timing, Valves and clean and adjust Spark Plugs.]
  • Inspect oil level, Drain oil, Remove filter. Clean and inspect filter mating surface for contaminants, lubricate and install new filter. Torque drain plug to spec. Fill engine oil to spec. Start engine and verify oil level.
  • P1572: Immobilizer circuit failure P0028: Left Oil switching valve malfunction ** Low oil can cause fault P0020: Right Oil switching valve malfunction ** Low oil can cause fault
  • WATER PUMP – Remove & Replace – 2.5i,Outback Sport
  • Found Valve seat failing. This is necessary to correct during this process. Remove Valve seats and replace with new (common failure on newer engine design) About $500 per Cylinder Head
